With Round 4 of the BTCC being held at the local Race track Oulton Park Northern-Modified and its memebers have decieded to go watch the touring cars on the race day (sunday 5th June). The day intends to be action packed with racing from the BTCC, Formula Renault 2.0 UK Championship,Ginetta GT Supercup,Renault Clio Cup and Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain so a day packed with Racing

Northern-Modified Rolling Road Day 3 - Results and Pictures

Well today was the third annual Rolling road day held by Northern-Modified at Awesome GTI. Once again it was a good turn out with a varity of cars running making the overall day a top day enjoyed by all the members and people that attended there was also a few nice motors that was knocking round the garage and carpark which can be seen in the photo albums.

The service provided by awesome was helpful and polite as per usual making awesome being the place where the next rolling road will take place either close of play this year or start of 2012. The day started with the FWD cars running followed by the RWD and the readings overall seemed very accurate pictures of the runs can be seen below with the power outputs

From previous years our members have had a good day out and enjoyed there time at the show and this year we will make no exceptions with a stand confirmed of 25+ cars we might not be the biggest stand but will endevour to stand out none the less With the stand ranging from mat black murdered BMW's to JDM drift spec motors there will surely be somting for everyone on the stand showing the range and varity the club has come known to have.

Northern Modified Kicks The Season Off At Manganelli Fast Show 2011 at Santa Pod

Well that’s it the Show season has kicked off for the Northern-Modified team. The first port of call was the Manganelli Fast Show 2011 at Santa Pod

As it was the first show of the season for the club we were very surprised in the support we got off our members going to the show with a excess of 50 members with a wide variety of cars the weekend turned out to be nonstop fun from beginning to end with a few people paying attention to the cars convoying on the way down as even then the members tried to make their cars stand out from the crowd

Once camp was set up a few of the members decided to run the strip and taking advatage of the £25 unlimited RWYB down the 1/4 mile a few good times were knocked up with Chris's mk1 golf, Wizza's A3, Libs Honda Civic type R EP3 and Row's MK4 Astra Gsi. Once the strip was finished for the day the members had chance to relax have a few drinks and go to the rave tent and let their hair down

Next day everyone was up bright and early a few nursing some sore heads but all keen for getting the cars ready for the show stand which turned out to look great with most of the cars having spec sheets which gave the chance fro the public to see how much work, money and time actually has gone into the cars that was showing

Once the stand was set up everyone left the cars on stand and went to take a look around the show which was to be a great show and possibly best quality motors seen at the Fast show to date as seen in the pictures below and in the facebook gallery here and on the forum here

So overall the weekend was a complete success with the members all enjoying themselves and giving them a weekend of fun and enjoyment to talk about long after the event.

At this point me and the northern modified staff would like to say a big thanks to the members that came and showed there support it was much appreciated and hope the members will show the same amount of support throughout the year as we hope to attend as many shows as possible both with and without club stands please keep an eye on the forum to see what shows, meets, cruises and events Northern-Modified will be attending throughout the year.

Northern Modified March Meet 2011 - Review and Pictures

Big thanks to everyone that came to the northern modified March Meet. Overall the night was a good night as per usual everyone was well behaved with no trouble, which is nothing new for the meets as people that have attended will know.

The meet wasn’t our busiest to date but the car park was still full with a good turnout of Modified motors with it being the start of the show season we knew alot of the members would be getting the cars ready for Northern Modified first show of the season the fast show at Santa Pod which was to be a week later.

The turnout of motors was a wide Varity of motors stretching from stanced out MX5's to jacked up Land rover Defenders just showing the wide range of motors the northern modified meets have come to attract over recent months

With the show season approaching fast it also gave the Northern Modified promo Girls to get some practice in on their posing and pouting and was appreciated by the staff and members as it was a very cold night so the girls was brave for wearing their outfits in near arctic conditions so thanks for that girls

Northern-Modified Rolling Road Day 3

Well its a new year so time for Northern Modified to hold its annual rolling road day

Northern Modified have held successful rolling road for the past two consecutive years running, and are now going to hold there third. The rolling road day will be held at awesome GTi on Saturday 7th May

Costs are as follows:
£35 for 2WD cars
£45 for 4WD cars

The rolling road will consist of 3 Runs and a laminated print out giving the cars ouput in Torque and BHP

Northern Modified Raise £308 for Pendle Hospice in Charity Event

First of all thanks to everyone that turned up today be it as a racer or just showing your support

was a top day a good laugh all round i think that everyone that went probably had the same amount of expience on the track as it was more like a skid pan than a karting track which made it more of a drift race than a kart race
Northern modified put a team of six drivers together made up of:

Damo

Ross H

Nat

Postman Matt

Row (Kenzie)

and Rick (Starbo)

They were all given a sponsorship form to get donations for the event which all donations were all going to Pendle Hospice which is a local hospice to the Burnley area. The team managed to collect £308.10p which included the money rasied in the tin passed round at last months monthly meet (thanks to nessa and laura for collecting that)

The race took place at Prestige Karting Colne and consisted of 9 teams made up of 6 drivers each battling it out to win a 3 hour endurance race. The teams were mostly made up of ex raly drivers, current rally drivers, karting champions and various people from the local motor sport world which did give the NM team a slight disadvantage (at a guess as i'm guessing how fast you can get round the Bacup back roads doesn't count as race experience) the team managed to get a finishing place of 6th which was good to say we was the only team without at least one professional race driver in there team. Saying that the track was a very bad condition so anyone with previous experience of a karting track was very tested as the track was greasy/wet and made it more of a "Drift" event than a race

Northern Modified Members to be Featured in I-D Magazine

Northern Modified was recently asked to get a couple of members together to help out with a photoshoot by a High profile Photographer Nik Hartley who has done shoots for the likes of wonderland, I-D Magazine and Zoo.

Nik had been given the task of coming up north and photographing images for a feature in I-D magazine (The UK's biggest fashion publication) which would be called "Me and My..." and in northern modified's case it was going to be "Me and My Modified Car. This ment that two people would be needed for the shoot to show off how the northern people look and how they modifiy there cars so in this case members:

was asked to take there cars along to have there shoot wih Nik. The article is to appear in I-D Magazine in spring and will show that Northern people have just as modified cars as the south and showing the difference in the type of cars that are modified in the north. More info on when the final publication will be announced and Niks final images will be posted in the next few weeks

Northern Modified November Meet

On 19th of November we at www.Northern-Modified.com held our monthly meet

This was to be the last meet of 2010. This was by far our Busiest meet to date. It was a great success and a good night was had by all, we even had a special appearance from the Stig!

with a wide variety of cars turning up on the night from euro'd golf's rolling on deep dish rims to track prepped 106's running on ITB'S

a big thanks to all the members and people that turned up and a special thanks to the clubs that ran convoys on the night www.the-nwmc.com , www.modifiedcarclub.org , Car CruiseNW, www.ukhotcars.co.uk and www.waringtonstreetcruize.co.uk

The meets will be back from January next year but until then there will be plenty more activities carried out by the members on the forum such as a christmas drive and attending the LC4 cruise and KNW xmas Cruise.
